I think there is a place for a competitor for NHRA is the drag racing universe. Opportunities exist to complement NHRA's regional and national event programs. A smart move might be to embrace the Funny Car Chaos model. Use fuel cars as a show, a spectacle and run the sportsman cars as part of a national points paying series. How about a Pro Mod or a Fuel Altered Chaos show to compliment a legit sportsman program. Fans in the stands don't give a crap about a top fuel national championship. They want to be entertained and amazed. Personalities are fine and good, but no one cares a lick about what Courtney or Ron says or does. They do give a lick when that Hendricks Cars dragster runs 341.

The Force era is nearly over and an opportunity exists for a very different kind of drag racing event.

I always enjoyed watching the IHRA on TNN. That's where I discovered Scotty Cannon and the Big Red Mater.
Clay Millican was Top Eliminator 52 times, Tricky Ricky ran PS, Carey TF Racing introduced the side opening race rig, Mountain Motors ruled, and the able announcers were Ted Jones and Bret Kepner.
Their biggest fail was dumping the Nitro funny car class multiple times.

I agree in most parts of your post, less the Force comment. I would offer a few shekels to the cars that lost first round that wish a test run or just to come back for another run. The spectators don't care if they lost first round. They just want to see more cars run. Not 4 or 8 remaining cars. This is what CJ Hart did at Lions and it was loved by all.
