I knew several people in the stands were hurt when Garlits’ transmission let go. But, I have never really seen much about the number and severity of injuries.
Even one is too many but, great job helping the kid.

I would like to thank all of you for the comments to this old story. yes I was in the right place at the right time. There were many other very bad times with other issues that happened like this, but I just want to let them go. When I go to join many of my good friends at the big drag strip in the sky I will know that I never hurt anyone by making a mistake on the starting line, and I was able to help some have a full life. I am very proud of that.
