I bet Bernstein has his bottom lip poked out.
It will be interesting to see what he could do with a funny car since the majority of his success is with Top Fuel.
They are no strangers to Funny Cars.
Capps will certainly benefit in no time. Look for that car to do well......soon.

Didn't Tim Help out Bruce Larson besides Maynard Yingst?
I have an opinion that I'm sure will not be popular, but I think it's something we should all consider.
I'm not too hot on teams whom are struggling that go and pull old blood out of retirement. I thinks it's the same as saying, "I want to make the newest and most advanced product, but I want to hire a guy from 50 years ago to make it for me". What I mean by this is, what's wrong with new blood?! How is the new blood ever going to learn and become great if they keep getting replaced by old blood...isn't it supposed to be the other way around...new blood for old blood?!
Nothing against Tim Richards, and his capabilities, but he is almost 70 years old and has been retired for almost three years now. What could he possibly bring to the NAPA team that they already haven't tried. Ace & Medlen...are no slouches, if they couldn't do it.....then how is Tim Richards going to?
Anyhow, I think I made my point. I welcome respectful and intelligent comments.![]()

“When you’ve been around the sport as long as we have,” said Tim, “all the years start to run together and the physical and mental stress takes its toll. Kim has been working in this sport full time since 1982 and I’ve been in the sport maybe 10 years more than that. The sport consumes you but that’s what is required to be successful, and we won’t continue in the sport without a 100 percent commitment. There’s no way to shortcut the job. For us it’s all or nothing. We’re worn out and it’s time to stop.
“I’ll be 65 in January and I don’t want to keep working until I’m 70 or 75. Kim and I want to enjoy life and do some of the things we dream about.”
Kim, who has many responsibilities on the race car says the years have taken a physical toll.
