Thank You Dan Bennett from DRC (1 Viewer)

Justin,
I couldnt agree more. Dan is the man when it comes to his PS reporting. I stopped in the tower to let him know how much it was appreciated. Its the next best thing to being there.

Bob

Thanks a lot. I really do appreciate it.

It's been a long time since I've done this so I'm still coming back up to speed.

I do have to admit that this has been a fun race to do.

Nice job with the notes! The only thing I can nitpick is the difference between "quickest" and "fastest." "quickest" - ET "fastest" - MPH. So an ET record is the "quickest" pass.

wheres round 2 of tad?

Nice job on the notes but you will have to hit the "send" again for round 2 of tad as it didnt go. I see round one and three. but round two is missing

They should let you do the notes every single time! Excellent job! You've got more details in there than a prowler setting up for his next hit. :D

Al,

That was my first time since 1998 or so using FastNews' software and it wouldn't play along with my computer. It was unable to operate Outlook on my laptop so as a workaround I reported the session and then the file had to be sent by another one of the staff.

Again, I truly appreciate the support. It's been a long time since I've reported and I am pretty rusty though it got better as the weekend went on.

I think my reports looked different since I'm more or less fresh to the scene. The other staffers have reported thousands of runs for all of us this year and I wouldn't doubt there's a certain amount of burnout. I mean, if it's a good run there's only so much you can write, especially if you've already written it 100 times earlier.

After this weekend I really do appreciate all the hard work that is involved in bringing drag racing to life.

Anyhow. thanks again to all of you who posted on this thread. Personally, I wasn't all that pleased with the quality of what I posted and promise to work hard to get better.

Dan's the Man!

To me the notes are the best way to follow qualifying. It's great to see when the bumping begins, or, as I call it, the bloodbath! PS is unbelievably tense after first round. The other classes are ok, but PS is just nasty kickass attitude-adjustment-go-or-go-home drag racing! The descriptions are great Dan. Thanks

Great job Dan! I usually don't look at the writer's credits but started to wonder who it was that had such great insight! Being the P/S specialist you are, you couldn't have chosen a better race than Reading. Sure wish Yates could have showcased Jenkins' power a little better. ;) In all honesty, were you expecting a 50 to come up on the board?

Thanks for the support!

I would have liked to seen Yates do better also, as Jenkins always considered Maple Grove as one of his "home" tracks.

Yes, I really thought Greg was going to re-take the record in the finals. In fact, in the media center after the race he said that they had loaded the car up in order to do just that but they missed on the setup.

I admire his guts for going for it when it's the finals and you've got a real leaver in the other lane. A lot of teams would have played it safe.

From what I could see, very few cars were hitting it exactly right off the starting line. Believe it or not, I would say that Line had a bit too much wheelspeed off the line in his record run so there was more there for the taking.

In Greg's pass in the final, it didn't seem the car had quite enough.

It was a lot of fun working with Dan this weekend.

Given the reaction he got in this forum, I think I may start selling Dan Bennett bobbleheads!

Who want's one?

Jim
