Thacker Ready for a Win

Marty Thacker and the Rapid Transit Race Team have run some good numbers so far this season. They have even been in the position to win a few times, but close doesn’t count in drag racing. Only the person who gets to the finish line first gets to take home the Wally. And that is exactly what Thacker and his Team are looking to do in Indy this weekend.

“It seems like every time we have the car running well something goes wrong. Whether it is a failed ignition or a brake caliper bolt we just can’t seem to get everything to work in sync. We have put a ton of hours in to get this car running well without hurting so many parts. And we think that those issues are behind us, at least for the moment,” said Thacker.

“Now if we can just continue down that path and get a little luck on our side I think this Team can go far. We had a pretty good week to start off this divisional swing in St. Louis, now as we move on to Indy we are ready get this car in the winner’s circle for all the people that help us throughout the year; especially Evan and all the people at Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels.

Qualifying begins on Friday afternoon at 4 PM. It will continue on Saturday with runs at 1 PM and 4:30 PM. First round of eliminations will be held at noon on Sunday afternoon. For up to date coverage of the event please log onto Drag Race Central | Presented by Summitracing.com 1-800-230-3030.
