Thacker Ready for Norwalk

After a week off, the Rapid Transit Race Team sponsored by Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels is back in action at the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio this weekend. Coming off 2 final round appearances, the Team, including driver Marty Thacker, is ready to see what they will be able to accomplish.

“We are still not running as good as we would like to, but we have had a couple of good outings. There are still a few things I am trying to change to make the car run quicker, but we feel good about what we are bringing here to Norwalk this weekend,” said Thacker.

In their last outing, the Team earned a runner-up finish at the Division 3 Joliet event. And the weekend before that, they found themselves just feet away from successfully defending their Jeg’s All-Star title from 2006. This weekend could be the breakthrough the 2-time divisional champs have been looking for all year.

“We are excited to go to Norwalk this weekend. We had to skip the divisional earlier this year so this will be our first time, but I have heard a lot of good things about all the work they have done there. This Team is really hungry to get the first win of the season. I believe we can do it. We just need to go out there, race our race and hope that will be enough.”

Qualifying begins at 2 PM on Friday. Their second shot will come later that day at 6 PM. On Saturday at 11 AM they will have their last qualifying shot before eliminations begin at 4:30 PM.
