[coverattach=1]MADISON, Ill., May 1, 2009 -- A test motor in Angie McBride's Haltech/XXX Racing Buell produced the sixth-quickest Pro Stock Motorcycle elapsed time during Friday's rain-troubled qualifying for Sunday's O'Reilly Midwest Nationals at Gateway International Raceway.

The plan was to make two quarter-mile laps on the new engine, but persistent rain showers forced NHRA to postpone qualifying until Saturday, when McBride will get two more attempts to improve her 7.016-second, 186.64-mph Friday effort.

"We were pleased with the test run on the new motor, but we didn't get the kind of results we were hoping for," said McBride. "We are putting in our race motor for Saturday. It was raining before our run and NHRA was drying the track. We were wondering what tune-up changes we needed to make to get down the track.

"We hope to get at least one run in Saturday because the weather report is about the same as it was for
Friday. We are happy to be qualified and we hope we're still in the top 16 after Saturday's runs."
