Haltech/XXX Racing Fuels Buell turns in best of 6.958 seconds (1 Viewer)

[coverattach=1]MADISON, Ill. (St. Louis, Mo.), May 2, 2009 -- It took one of Saturday's qualifying attempts for Angie McBride's Haltech/XXX Racing Fuels Buell to get dialed into the Gateway International Raceway quarter-mile track and she improved her performance to an impressive 6.958 seconds at 187.65 mph to earn the No. 6 starting berth for Sunday's O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals.

"We made the adjustments after our first run (7.016 at 186.64 mph) and the bike ran really well," McBride said. "We are happy to be in the top half of the field again and we are looking forward to Sunday."

Her first-round opponent is Matt Guidera, who qualified 11th, 7.024 at 186.87 mph.

Pro Stock Motorcycle was the only pro category to get one qualifying session Friday before rain stopped the action and McBride, of King, N.C., held the sixth place at that time with a 7.016 at 186.64.
