TEC - at ZMAX

Jim

My wife has agreed to come along to the Charlotte race on Friday (Weather permitting). Sounds like a good time and I really want to see the venue.

That said, I'm not driving from CT to NC if then weather is a non-starter.

QUESTIONS:
1.) Anybody done TEC at ZMAX and
2.) Will I still be able to buy seats (for Friday) on Wednesday.

TIA for your opinions/ speculation/ whatever. Jim

The TEC setup is new for this race. They haven't had the TEC since the first race or two. At one time there was a "330 Club", the same as TEC, just run by the race track. 330, because that's how much it cost to get in. It was held in the pavilion behind the main grandstand. The TEC for this race looks like it's going to be on the mezzanine level of the main grandstand. Not a bad place to have it. Don't get too excited about the catered meals, they will probably be done by The Speedway Club, and their food leaves a lot to be disired. But if you really want her to have a good time, I'd say go for it. I don't think there will be any trouble getting tickets. I may even show up Saturday for the day.

Follow up question:

Is there usually a provision to allow one to "get out of the weather" at the TEC deal. Not concerned so much about rain but, heat - i.e. air conditioned area or, at least, shade protection?

The mezzanine level, where it appears the TEC will be this year, is under the main grandstands, out of the sun and rain. Because it is 30 feet or so above ground level, there is usually a breeze through there. Probably will be nice to have that, looks like temps will be in the mid 80's next weekend.
