His chutes never deployed. From the sound of it, he had it turned sideways. There is some damage, Bob said that the door appeared jammed.

Alan says that Kurt is fine and the car's OK. The chutes didn't deploy until the car was pretty much at a stand still. He says Kurt had no problem making weight with about 40 extra pounds of rocks and dirt.
The carbon fibre nose and one of the rocker panels are banged up, and will need repair. They are getting help from a couple of the funny car crews with that. You'll see some "missing teeth" when you watch the qualifying show this weekend.
