just another pro mod series with different rules
I disagree 1000%.

They came to Brainerd a couple years ago, so I thought I’d make the trip with my boys for the day and check it out.

I was shocked how many people were there for it. It was incredible the amount of people there for a non NHRA national event. The lines for autographs were longer than any line I’ve ever seen for John Force, Kenny Bernstein, Joe Amato, you name it, and I've been to a lot of races across the country.

“Just Another pro mod series” - As a stand alone class event would not even come close to what I saw, no matter what drivers were advertised to be there.

Just my opinion and observations.

no doubt they get a lot of TV exposure and on social media. That all helps boost the crowd.

Kind of. All the top guys (Kye, Ryan, Shawn, Scott, etc.) have fairly major sponsors now.

not exactly. we don't know what it pays or who will compete. IHRA is paying 50k to win at 10 or more events with an all run field. can't imagine NHRA will be anything close to that, but who knows?

I don't think they despise them. Maybe jealous. Big Chief (no longer part of the street outlaws gang) was threatened to be banned from NHRA events about the time NPK started. Then they saw how popular the series was becomming and changed their mind.

NHRA is desperate for an increase in fan base and will do what they have to do, including bringing in street racers they despise.
NPK is totally different than racing on the street. They have been running on NHRA sanctioned tracks for years. Big Chief even ran his car at the US Nationals way back in 2016. The Discovery Channel ran into massive financial problems (Nothing to do with NPK) and the NPK deal ended. This helps out both sides IMO.

100% true the largest crowd ever at National Trail was the Street Outlaws group, traffic was insane, two full days. NHRA was against them and now that NHRA is seeing the writing on the wall they are jumping onto the band wagon a little late IMO. Many of these guys already have found homes in other places.

they'll probably take more TV times away from PS to show them
