COLUMBUS, N.C. (July 5, 2007) - Quain Stott and his LeeBoy Corvette, powered by Torco Race Fuels, head into Edmonton for the 5th Annual CARS RV & Marine & Motorsports Rocky Mountain Nationals presented by Torco Racing Fuels to defend the title they captured last season. Stott, fresh off his runner-up finish in Tulsa, is looking for big things in Edmonton.
"Castrol Raceway is a great place to race," said the defending Torco Comp Plus Pro Modified World Champion. "We've enjoyed our success here."
When Stott won the event in 2006, it broke a two year win less streak and catapulted him to number two in points, setting the pace for his late season championship run. His 2005 showing was also strong. The semi-final appearance helped Stott finish number six in Knoll-Gas Nitro Jam points.
"We've made a bunch of friends here in the past five years," Stott said. "With all of the fantastic LeeBoy people in the area and right down to the fans that named their son Quain, Edmonton has become a special place for us."
Stott will need a good outing in Edmonton to continue his defense of the Pro Modified Championship. He currently holds down the number five spot and is within striking distance of the current points leader Scott Cannon. "We're all going to have to stay after it just to keep up with Scotty," said Stott. "He's had the car to beat so far. We'll just have to lean on it a little more."
