Stott Shakes Out of Semifinals

GRAND BEND, Ont. (July 23, 2007) - Quain Stott and the LeeBoy Equipment Corvette powered by Torco Racing Fuels made up some ground to the points leaders during the MOPAR Canadian Nationals. After qualifying seventh, Stott attempted to tame the track with successful wins against Mike Castellana and Kenny Lang before bowing out to event winner Raymond Commisso.

"It was a tough track," said Stott. "No matter what I did, I couldn't find the right set up for the track."

While Stott struggled to find the right combination, he continued to go rounds, matching fellow Fulton Racing Engine entry Jim Halsey round for round before falling in the semifinals.

"Halsey and I kept saying we were going to stick together," added Stott. "Gene Fulton gave us both lots of horsepower. Unfortunately, we both went out in the semifinals."

While Stott was excited about the weekend's results (currently fourth in points and just 45 points out of second place), he was just as frustrated. In an attempt to gain an advantage over his fellow competitors, Stott remained in Grand Bend on Monday for an additional day of testing.

"We're right there," said Stott. "We just have to find that little something extra to catch up with Scotty Cannon. Plus, we want to make sure we're prepared for Martin and Torco's CompetitionPlus.com Pro Mod Shootout."

Stott is currently qualified fifth for the upcoming shootout which has over $50,000 in prize money posted for competitors.

"There will be a lot riding on the Torco race in Martin," said Stott. "There are not only points riding on that race, but the $50,000 that Evan Knoll puts up for the shootout. You can be sure the Pro Mod action will be hot and heavy."
