The Reed Racing team entered 2007 and the second half of the Australian Drag Racing Championship with some good results at Queensland's Willowbank Raceway on the weekend, with Steven Reed moving up to 4th position in the Top Alcohol Championship in his Nulon Engine Oils Funny Car.
Competing in the 4th Round of the Australian Championship, Steven showed excellent speed all weekend consistently running at over 400 kph before nailing down the number 3 qualifying spot with a great 5.74 second pass, just2 hundredths of a second off the number 1 position.
He then comfortably made is way through the Elimination Rounds to the semi-finals in his 3500 horsepower Funny Car before being eliminated by Gary Philips by 5 hundredths second.
"My Nulon Engine Oils Funny Car has been running great since we did a complete engine rebuild earlier in the season and this has given me the confidence to step it up," Steven Reed said.
"There are no easy races in the Top Alcohol bracket with just about every single Round going down to the wire, which is what makes the bracket so popular with both the fans and the competitors."
"We now have the Reed Racing Top Alcohol cars in the 3rd and 4th positions in the National Championship which is incredible considering the stiff competition this season."

Despite encountering some issues with her Nulon Dragster over the weekend, Debbie still managed a quarter-final result for her local Queensland fans.
"It is always good to qualify in such a tough field but I was still suffering a problem which we encountered last time out with my Nulon Dragster with it breaking blower belts over weekend," Debbie Reed said.
"We think we finally sorted the problem out during the Eliminations but it wasn't enough to get through."
"Our aim now is to have my car back running the times that I was earlier in the season when we return to racing at the Western Sydney International Dragway next month."
Also racing for the Reed Racing team over the weekend driving his 'Start Ya Bastard' backed Altered in the Supercharged Outlaws bracket was team member Daniel Reed, who had his own fair share of mixed fortunes after suffering major damage in his first qualifier when he broke his drive shaft.
After working through the night on Friday he was able to return to race on Saturday managing to qualify in the tough field before also being eliminated in the quarter finals when he once again damages his drive shaft.
The Reed Racing team will next be hitting the track for the Summernationals at the Western Sydney International Dragway in New South Wales on February 16-17.
