DANIEL REED EXTENDS CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD

Reed Racings Daniel Reed cemented his place at the top of the Supercharged Outlaws table in the Rocket All Stars Drag Racing Championship with a great runner up finish at the Summernationals on the weekend (February 16-17) at the Western Sydney International Dragway.

Driving his ‘Start Ya Bastard’ Altered, Daniel successfully negotiated his way through the elimination rounds to the Final where he looked like he was going to go all the way to take the win. Unfortunately though he broke out under his handicap which disqualified him in the race.

Despite not winning the event, the good performance still gave him the chance to extend his lead in the National Championship.

“It was a little disappointing not to be coming home with the winners trophy after a fantastic event, but runner up is still a great result for the team,” Daniel Reed said.

“I was also able to extend my lead in the Supercharged Outlaws Championship race after my closest rivals went out early.”

“There is still a lot of work to do but if I can keep up my consistansy for the rest of the season I have real chance of taking home my first National Title.”

Daniel’s parents Steven and Debbie Reed also had a successful meet for the Reed Racing team at the Summernationals where they both reached the quarter finals of the professional Top Alcohol bracket in their Nulon backed entries.

“The new Nulon Camaro Funny Car was a dream to drive, we made a few minor adjustments to things such as the head rest and parachute levers to better suit my driving position but apart from that it was great,” Steven Reed said.

“It was running 5.7’s all weekend straight down the middle of the track and now I am comfortable in the car I am confident we will be able to push it harder and get the times down even more.”

“The final results at the Summernationals also meant that both myself and Debbie maintained our position towards the top of the Australian Top Alcohol Championship as well. I am now in third spot and Debbie is in fourth.”

To have both of cars in the top five at the end of the season would be a sensational result for both the team and our sponsors.”

The Reed Racing team will next be hitting the track for the Nitro Champs at the Western Sydney International Dragway on May 4-5.
