Thanks for the good thoughts, Dave! Sorry about Michigan, we inhabit the same purgatory on the bowl loss front. I heard OU lost also on some sort of gadget play??? no one here has any details. Can you, Tom, or any of my other buddies on this thread fill me in? Thx

At this point with all the lines that are down, etc. They are estimating 10 days to 2 WEEKS before we see power! Hope it warms up!

I appologize but have to be brief. Yes Boise State ran a "hook and ladder" play at the end of the game to tie and then won the game later on a "statue of liberty" play! Unbelievable game. I gotta run. I really hope things turn around soon Terry. Try and keep us posted if possible. Take care buddy.

terry once power is back up you'll have to find someway to watch the 4th quarter and ot of the osu boise game. IT was a great finish

you said it gary....hell i go to Western Illinois, we're not even DI, we are DIaa......so i woulda been in big trouble!! Of course there is something to be said about going to a DIaa school.....WE HAVE A 16 TEAM TOURNAMENT TO DETERMINE OUR NATIONAL CHAMPION!!!!!

Hi Terry,
I was wondering about you & then I saw the ice storm on the weather channel this morning.
The HUSKERS didn't look too bad, at least it wasn't a blow out!!:p
I feel bad for Dave & PJ but Michigan was awful!!! I really didn't want USC to win. :mad: Boise State & Oklahoma was a great game!! Tonight is ND & LSU, it should be good as well. But we know that the best game is this Monday!!:p

i'm not gonna lie.....watching this is making me wanna strike something or someone.....hard....preferablly a USC player or fan, cuz thats about all that will give me a shred of happiness :mad:
 
Tom's Semi-official Fiesta Bowl Trip Post

Semi-official 'cause I'm still pretty groggy from the insane lack of sleep for 3 days, but I'll try. This may be a little short but I'll try to hit the major points.

All the trip plans went pretty much according to schedule... flights were on time, rental car was awesome (Stang convertible, in Sooner red, of course :) ), hotel was actually better than expected but then again my expectations of Comfort Inn aren't that high to begin with.

We didn't run into any BSU fans until we got to the hotel. Every single one of them that we met both before and after the game were very nice. In the stadium I'd guess they outnumbered Sooner fans maybe 60/40. They were very loud (with good reason) and were generally a very pleasant lot. I was disappointed with my fellow Sooners on the noise-making thing which is something that we're usually quite good at. Giving up 14 points quick really knocks the wind out of the crowd, though.

With the exception of our turnovers the game actually went pretty much the way I expected. BSU was well-coached, had great schemes, and were ultra-motivated. Add those 14 quick points to the mix and it's a picture-perfect setup for an underdog and they certainly took advantage of it. I was proud as can be of our guys for hanging in there and never giving up after being stuck the entire game. Losing our best receiver in the 1st quarter made things even more difficult. By the end we had worn the BSU defense down to a frazzle, our offense clicked and Paul Thompson started to look like Troy Aikman with 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter. I can't even begin to describe the gamut of emotions during the last 3 minutes of the game plus the overtime... I've never yelled so loud or so hard nor have I had such incredible swings of emotions at an OU game and I've seen some of the very best. The Orange Bowl of 2001 was probably the closest when we were 13 point underdogs to Florida State and pulled it off. I hate like hell that we lost but I'm thrilled that I got to witness what may well be the greatest finish of a college football game in history. Congrats to the Broncos for the victory, it was well deserved and hopefully we'll meet again in another BCS game next year!

I took a bunch of pics but I haven't had time to look at them yet, hopefully some of them will be worth putting up. All in all we had a great trip and the only thing I was unable to do was get by the Wannabe Racing undisclosed, double-secret race shop location. Hopefully Doc and the boys will forgive me for not making it by this trip... there just wasn't enough time to fit it all in but I'll be back again eventually!

Congrats to LSU on their win! Notre Dame is a class act and they did quite a lot in the community here(Katrina related) while they were down for the Sugar Bowl. Looking forward to the big game on Monday night!

Hey Mike I feel your pain. It sucks! You can deal with a loss a lot easier when the team "shows up". N.D. did at least for the first half. Michigan didn't even do that! :mad:

Congrats to the LSU backers! They look strong. I have felt all along that they are better than Florida even though Florida beat them earlier in the year.

Great game! It was a nice and close until the 3rd quarter. I'll tell you one thing.....I saw some awesome blocks by ND's defense! :)
 
The first half was interesting, but that second half was LSU domination!!!! Russell shined in that game, his arm is unreal!!! BTW, has there ever been a worse pass interference call than that one in the second half last night were the ND wide receiver had two handfulls of jersey???

I'd like to see Russell back next year, but I suspect the NFL is where he will be. However, they have a kid named Ryan Perrilloux that is waiting in the wings that I can't wait to see take the field. He was mister everything in high school, player of the year in '04. He redshirted in '05 as a true freshman, so he will be a sophomore next year. His stats in high school were insane. I am a little afraid that if Russell comes back, Ryan may want to transfer.

Anyway, great win by my Tigers!!!

BTW, the ALA/LSU game should be fun next year huh???

In case anyone is wondering, I'm a Louisiana native living in Alabama!!

You have nothing to worry about, Russell is going pro and Ryan will be the QB next year. I have never seen him play in person but I did see some film on him and he is pretty impressive. I know Texas was really pissed b/c he had committed there and then changed his mind at the last minute and went to LSU.
 
loosk like Mike has wrapped up the contest. I should win more games but didn't do well enough on the points. I guess I'm only good on qualifying day lol
