So IHRA finances vs NHRA (1 Viewer)

IHRA has a person, Darryl Cuttell, a successful business man. He runs a business called Darana Hybrid, generating 105 million a year in revenue. He is currently building a business to develop a racing league for racers based on their input. He has invested millions of dollars in track and equipment purchases along with employees. He has a fund which as of now covers 10 years worth of the series cost to run.
IHRA has a revenue stream to replace used funds from Darryl's business which actually generates income.

IHRA is being built to run like Kallitta and Schumaker did/does. They built a successful businesses to be able to fund their racing programs not rely 100% on sponsorships.

NHRA is a non profit relying on donations by sponsors, ticket sales and royalties of licensing their brand. They have management that pay themselves roughly a million each in salary. They currently own three tracks, so basically have limited assets. The costs of racing NHRA are going thru the roof with no return to anyone involved, racers or sponsors. NHRA does what it wants and you pay to play by their rules.
NHRA walks around with its hand out looking for donations.

NHRA is no longer the only game in town and spectators, racers are going to other venues, shrink their revenue.

In today's economic and business climate who is going to last longer ? We already see sponsors going away, we see racers no longer wanting to spend their own money to play, costs are too high. Nitro is shrinking, PS is down to two teams, where does the future lie. Costs are rapidly increasing as to win you need to push past all the limits of current equipment. Engines are exploding, bodies are regularly turned to confetti. This is creating a situation of the most money wins.

Owners and drivers are getting older with not many youngsters coming in to the sport. Sure there are a few but you need 32 to make two full fields. There is no real feeder series that is feasible for most to get involved. Maybe teams should be funding lower classes to groom new drivers into the sport and actually pick talent not family members to drive.

Well I am probably living in a fantasy world, I truly hope both succeed but the bottom is what is being done is not working and if not fixed it is going to disappear.
