You are correct, he isn't the first. He was the first to be called out by another driver at the top end and John's reaction is why everyone is making it a big deal out of it. If John had not reacted like an enraged lunatic half of the bad PR would not exist and John would not have lost the respect from the many people he has.

Maybe if John hadn't been called out by a hypocrite, he wouldn't have reacted the way he did. Both of them equally at fault, in my opinion.

So let me get this right:

You're at a Drag Racing event where a sponsor has a display of some sort?

You tell the sponsor your driver and team is reflecting badly on them and making them (the sponsor) look bad to people who follow the sport?

Just WHAT did you expect to accomplish by "slapping a sponsor in the face"?

In a day when sponsors are scarce and political correctness makes sponsors (and potential sponsors) especially sensitive - why would ANY racer go piss-in-the-soup? 'Cause it's JFR's soup?

Do you really think you're preserving the sanctity of the sport?

Maybe AAA is a hardcore sponsor but, I don't think any sponsor needs to be shown there's any downside from their involvement. You reap what you sow.

Have to admit I am with you on this matter 100%. In the big picture, nothing good will ever come of tweeking a sponsor's nose..........:)

Isnt this topic about Snake being on Wind Tunnel?...Shut up about Force and Tony already people ,it happened let it ****ING GO!!!!

I have been a AAA member for 27 years. I had a right to ask them. Case closed

Jerry, the Snake and Dave discussed the incident, so why do you feel we should let it go? I feel the discussion is relevant in this thread given the nature of their discussion on Wind Tunnel. Maybe you should educate yourself before telling people to let it go. Trust me, people will be talking about the Indy incident for many more months to come.

Oh? I've only been a current member for the last 10 years or so. I guess you're right simply on the basis of seniority. Certainly not based on the your bone-headed logic.

Case closed, indeed......

It is no different than John Force fans writing and calling Quaker State and Advance complaning and whining about the Pedregons. I know of quite a few fans that have done this thinking that then sponsors will drop pedregons since they made John mad.

It don't look good period whining to the sponsors. You give them a bad taste like that and when they leave they won't come back

The old saying is: a happy customer will tell a couple of friends, the unhappy one will tell everyone they know.

If we want to see more sponsors in drag racing, we have to tip the scale the other way. We have to tell sponsors of people we support (be that JFR, TPed, Snake, Schu, whoever) that we appreciate their support, and that we'll buy their products because of their support, and then actually follow through and buy their products.

I'll admit I'm not as good as I should be on this, but we all, as passionate supporters of the sport, should try to do our best. I'm headed to Vegas and Pomona, and I'm going to make a concerted effort to go up to the sponsors I can find and tell them personally that I appreciate their support.
