There was a AAA display at CHHR. I made it a point to go over there and asked the guy in charge if AAA did infact, pressure Force to dive for Robert. Told him there were a lot of people down on AAA for that. He assured me that that was not the case, but I wanted them to know they got a black eye over that deal.

OMG, let it go already. You need to try to watch Windtunnel and see what Snake said on the deal!!!!!!!!;)

Jay, I have allways had a lot of respect for your opinion but the post above really floored me. Do you really hate Force that bad?
AAA certainly did not get a black eye in my opinion from that deal and I suspect you will be hearing from many others.

That's retarded...........

That's like saying that Quaker State got a black eye two seasons ago when Cruz gave Tony a freebie in Vegas allowing him to win the championship over Hight. All that anyone remembers is that Tony Pedregon was the 2007 Funny Car champ.

Yeah, what he said:o

I usually have so much stuff dvr'ing on Sunday that I alway record the Monday morning replay. I'm looking forward to getting home and checking it out. :)

Lynn Jay's been around this sport since the 60's, I don't think he's being unreasonable. That incident will haunt Force for the rest of his career, guaranteed!

It's not like he is the 1st to do it, and he won't be the last, I'm sure!!!!!!! I just don't see what the big deal is!!!!!

First off, I'm not a "fan", so I don't like of dislike the drivers, owners, etc. There was speculation on this site and others that Force was "under pressure to do what ever was necessary" to get the AAA car in. I just asked them if that was true, were they under pressure from AAA. They guy, who appeared to be in charge, said no.

So now you can believe whoever you want.
I'm done with it.

How did Cruz give Tony a freebie? Just because he smoked the tires in that round? Well, he smoked the tires the round before also. Less obvious than leaving with a .250 light and driving the car directly out of the groove.

Despain asked the Snake if the rivalry with McEwen was real, or if it was just about making money. Snake responded by saying it is STILL real, they have yet to do a joint book signing because they are pissed at each other RIGHT NOW. Anyone know what they are beefing about now?

Snake also said he saw nothing wrong with the Force/Hight deal at Indy, that you should do what you have to do to help team cars.

You are correct, he isn't the first. He was the first to be called out by another driver at the top end and John's reaction is why everyone is making it a big deal out of it. If John had not reacted like an enraged lunatic half of the bad PR would not exist and John would not have lost the respect from the many people he has.

I was wondering if anyone was going to mention this. That was funny. I can't wait to see the book. To get back on track here, they talked about the start of the Hot Wheels deal, how McEwen had the idea, a couple "irons" in the fire to stay out next year and that he wouldn't be back if they couldn't do it right. (enough money)

I asked Snake what the status of his sponsor hunt was and he referred all questions about that to the folks running the t-shirt trailer. So i asked if there was any news and they said as soon as they have something to share they will announce it.

So let me get this right:

You're at a Drag Racing event where a sponsor has a display of some sort?

You tell the sponsor your driver and team is reflecting badly on them and making them (the sponsor) look bad to people who follow the sport?

Just WHAT did you expect to accomplish by "slapping a sponsor in the face"?

In a day when sponsors are scarce and political correctness makes sponsors (and potential sponsors) especially sensitive - why would ANY racer go piss-in-the-soup? 'Cause it's JFR's soup?

Do you really think you're preserving the sanctity of the sport?

Maybe AAA is a hardcore sponsor but, I don't think any sponsor needs to be shown there's any downside from their involvement. You reap what you sow.
