I never had a problem with her although she was kind of rough around the edges but in a world of men I can see why. I am just going to say I lost respect for her when she said If he was wearing a BELL helmet he would have been OK after John Forces accident. Classless.

Any male from the same era gets very little push back NOT being PC, and myself I LOVE Shirley - but someone like Snake can talk a buncha $#!% about say, Maddi & that's OK - but Shirl says something and she gets ragged on?

Nobody has to DEAL with a damn thing, Robert. The woman paid her dues no doubt but most legends, regardless of their field of expertise, don't feel the need to constantly remind everyone over the last 40 years how they had to walk five miles to school during a blizzard - uphill both ways - to prove their worth while frowning on those who now drive those five miles in a 4 wheel drive pickup their old man bought for them. Nobody disputes what she went through and now it's time to close out that chapter, although as long as Connie Kalitta and Don Garlits are alive I don't see it happening.
I actually feel sorry for Shirley Muldowney who feels she has to constantly remind herself how bad it was and how good she was. She does not. She WAS good; damn good and I want to remember her for the champion she was. And now, I agree with those who say it's time to change the subject.
She has definitely been her own worst enemy and has no one to blame but herself. I first saw her at a match race in 1972 and she was as miserable then as she is now. Incredibly nasty to the fans and her crew alike. Impossible to root for. She destroyed what should be a wonderful legacy.
