Severance and 801 Racing Go to Finals at Phoenix Regional (1 Viewer)

Chandler, AZ – It’s a little over three hundred miles from Firebird Raceway to Las Vegas, NV. After the luck Joey Severance and his 801 Racing Dragster had at the Regionals, he might just want to go and place a few bets.

Severance’s Top Alcohol Dragster had some troubles in qualifying. Tire smoke and a lost blower belt landed the Woodburn, OR driver in the number eight spot. His qualifying time was a less than desirable 7.283 elapsed time, at only 125.54 miles per hour. The luck was just starting to show.

In the first round of eliminations, Severance faced number one qualifier Chris Demke and his Maddern Racing rocket ship. Demke had run off a series of 5.33’s in qualifying, and had the car to beat. Severance got off the line first and a distracted Demke tried to play catch-up to no avail.

“I got to the shut down area and didn’t know I had won,” said Severance. “It was great to finally get down the track with a [email protected].”

Second round saw that lucky streak continue. James Butler’s car started up and then quit running, giving Severance a single. The luck continued when Severance spun the tires at the hit and put on a small smoke show.

Now it was on the finals. Severance was paired against Megan McKernan. Severance got the holeshot and was out in front. His 0.035 light had given him the advantage, but could he keep it? Had his luck run out? Could he win after such a crazy weekend? Just past half track, McKernan roared past Severance, snatching his luck as she streaked for the win.

“We are so happy to make it to the finals,” added Severance. “We had luck on our side”

Severance had something else on their side. The 801 Racing Revvolution 70Wt Oil with CleanBoost Technology enabled the team to avoid any major engine damage. They were able to post a respectable [email protected] in the final. Cleary luck was on Joey Severance’s side, but with 801 Racing behind him, Severance’s luck is more than a sure bet.

We believe true happiness comes from blazing down the blacktop with the pedal to the metal and our hair on fire. The whiter our knuckles get, the better. If it were up to us, cars wouldn't even have brakes, just two gas pedals. It's this never-ending need for speed that drives everything we do. We spend countless hours in the lab and lying awake at night plotting and planning how to get more speed by any means possible. After decades of research and innovation, we've developed a complete line of performance and car care products designed to ensure that your ride lives up to its potential on the street and on the track. We know what you want. We got what you need. We are 801 Racing. For more information on 801 racing, please visit: 801 RACING
