Severance and 801 Racing Take Mission Regional with Authority (1 Viewer)

Mission, B.C. - Some things are given to you, and some you take. Joey Severance took all he could from Mission Raceway Park. Severance was the low qualifier, won the race, and went quick and fast doing it. Set on kill pretty much sums the weekend up.

“We had a great weekend at Mission,” said Severance. “I was really proud of the crew and the way the car responded.”

The Regional event started out with a Friday qualifying pass of 5.367 at 267.93. That put the 801 Racing Team in the number one spot. Second round of qualifying on Saturday saw Severance lower that time with a dandy 5.352 at 270.86. Things continued to look good for the Severance Racing Top Alcohol Dragster. The number one qualifying position earned them a bye in the first round. Severance didn’t let up, snapping off a 5.332/266.85 blast down the unopposed quarter mile.

Second round action saw number three qualifier Gord Gingles attempt to slay Severance. Gingles fouled away his chance, and Severance continued his string of 5.30’s with a 5.369, 262.79. It was now on to the finals where Severance would face Anchorage, Alaska’s Ray Martin. The question on everyone’s mind was whether anyone could de-rail the Severance freight train. Martin gave it a shot, but Severance continued to exude his authority on the field with a 5.369/262.79 Marin’s losing 5.439/264.29. The event win was his, and Joey Severance’s commanding display made it that much sweeter.

“We were testing some stuff to get ready for the Jegs Allstars race in Chicago at the end of June,” added Severance. “We were excited with the results. The 801 Racing oil is working great, and the motor seems to be very happy.”

With a happy motor, positive testing feedback, and a new trophy for his mantle, Severance is well prepared for his next race in Chicago. If his performance in Mission is any indication of things to come, Severance will be the authority of the class.

We believe true happiness comes from blazing down the blacktop with the pedal to the metal and our hair on fire. The whiter our knuckles get, the better. If it were up to us, cars wouldn't even have brakes, just two gas pedals. It's this never-ending need for speed that drives everything we do. We spend countless hours in the lab and lying awake at night plotting and planning how to get more speed by any means possible. After decades of research and innovation, we've developed a complete line of performance and car care products designed to ensure that your ride lives up to its potential on the street and on the track. We know what you want. We got what you need. We are 801 Racing. For more information on 801 racing, please visit: 801 RACING
