Then I need to yell at Comcast for not updating the channel guide out here to reflect ESPN 2's programming change. :D

That's what I get for trusting a cable company! LOL. I'm just at a point where ish happens and things don't always start on time with the NHRA coverage. It's just, ah, OK ... well, hope I can watch some of it. Or I record the re-broadcast later in the week. :)

At least with this week's race, I'll be there. :D
Yeah ... no kidding Kris. I have Comcast also. Some digital package we got.

After seeing some high lights of the ball game on Sportscenter.. i understand why it was so important to show it instead of the NHRA starting on time... it was a barn burner... and one of the most sot after tickets in baseball.... it had maybe 7,000 people in a 45,000 seat venue.. that makes it a must see event if you were a baseball lover...... :D.. i bet the fans had to wait maybe 30 to 40 seconds for a beer at the consession stands or wait maybe 5 seconds for a spot in the restrooms......:D:p

thats my sarcasam for the day.......;)

Billy

Thank you Billy
Thought I was going to have a sarcastic outbreak myself.........

I can guarantee the contract ESPN has with MLB is far more iron clad and worth truckloads more of money.

Sure it is. Let's just start with the fact that the money goes in opposite directions for the two contracts: ESPN pays MLB to air the games, and makes money on the commercials. NHRA pays ESPN to broadcast the races, and ESPN still makes money on the commercials.... And look at ratings, where the average NHRA race draws <500,000 and last year's all-star game drew an audience of over 14 million. Which crowd to upset is an easy decision.

Maybe the contract states that ESPN2 can bump NHRA when necessary. Maybe that was a key part of signing the deal???? Not sure but worthy of thought.

Sarcasm aside, attendence was a little over 36,000. Most wouldn't hang around after a long delay like that. They might miss the NHRA on TV if they did :D.

Barry.. you forgot the important part... every ticket to the ball game at BUSCH field also got you tour of the Brewery and all the free beer you could carry.......lol..:p

Due to my new work schedule, I DVR the races and watch them on Wednesday night. Because I don't want to find out who won I avoid all drag racing sites so I had no idea it was going to start later.

I usually set my DVR to record an hour beyond the race but after this stunt I'm going to set it for 2 hours. I missed everything after RD 2 of TF, FC and PS.

Sheesh, bumped for a "who cares" minor league baseball game.

I thought the Top of the seventh was pretty good...

I don't wait for TV, very rarely do I bother to turn the set on. Sunday was a prime example, turn the set on in the bed room and was out before the first round of TF was over.

I do the same thing ... that's why I had no idea what the hell happened until I sat down to watch it. Usually I wait till it's over but had I done that I would've missed most of the race.

Sounds like maybe you should just DVR the re-broadcast instead since it's in the middle of the night on Tuesday usually. Might be the only way to be sure you'll get the whole thing.

I got to see everything that I wanted to! :)

I usually do 2 hrs over... unfortunately, my DVR won't let me go beyond 2 hrs. I'll have to start recording the shows 2 hrs beyond the drag racing time slot.

Not looking good, the qualifying show on Saturday follows a NASCAR Nationwide series race, and the finals show follows the Soccer "World Football Challenge". I'd add a bunch of time to any recording you're planning...

I do the same thing (checking preceeding shows)! Don't forget to check after the drag racing time slot. If there's another Live event scheduled afterwards, we all know drag racing isn't going to pre-empt anything on ESPN2.
