Do you guys ever race in the rain? I saw a video once of cars in Europe racing on tires the same width as slicks, only with tread on them. They actually got down the track, a bit slower.....

Santa Pod is one of the best tracks I have been to and I been to a lot.

No, no racing in the rain here. They did try it during Santa Pod's first couple of years (1966-67) but not since. I've not come across running in the wet on treaded tyres anywhere in Europe, certainly not at the big races.
