Not sure about a "booked in national event", but you may want to keep up with the track schedule (because you never know).

Has the rain stopped?
Have they looked at the long term forcast?
Are you sure it is not IHBA?

I can see boat races but the weather in this state is not conducive to drag racing according to on authoritive sanctiong body.

I am not saying your wrong but with all of the water on the brain from the last party and such... I'm just sayin...
