Anyone know about San Antonio Raceway? I was in Texas for 2 weeks (College Station) & we went to San Antonio to visit the Alamo & River Walk. Saw the track from the freeway & was wondering about it. I think it is IHRA.

San Antonio Raceway will have a new name Alamo City Motorplex, and new owner (SAR is currently being leased). Grand opening with the new name, and owner is July 6th.

Back when it opened, they always had IHRA National events, great races with full nitro fields. Clay Milligan was dominant in Top Fuel back then. After the IHRA quit hosting National Meets, they went to the Nitro Jam nights with Nastolgic Funny Cars, Nitro Harleys, etc. , the track would have a packed house for those. The last few years, they've had Night of Fire twice a year with Jets, Fuel Altereds, etc...... They taped the TV Show PINKS there a few years. A lot of No Prep racing there now.
