Ron Capps Response To First Driver's Meeting With Auto Shut-Off Topic (1 Viewer)

Thanks Jeff for the info, good to see you still posting here..................

Hopefully we'll see you in the winner's circle.................:D

If you don't bother to hit the kill switch in the shutdown and try to idle down to a turnoff, it will put the chutes out for you.

ETA: oh I missed the second page of posts, never mind.

You can just shut off the ignition switch before you get to the transponder and it will override everything.

thank you Jeff. One question Sir, let's say you smoke the tires big time right at the hit – it's only a qualifying past – so you idle on down.

You don't want to kill the ignition as you may need power to make the end of track, if you throw one parachute but leave the ignition on, won't that also override the " ASO ??

Thanks, and great luck this season.

It depends..my chute levers are tied together so can't hit just one...plus they still slow you down fast. Even if you smoke the tires early, just idling you are still running pretty close to 100mph. If you shut the ignition off close to the transponder and the clutch didn't weld, its no problem to make it to the last turn off to get off the track.
