RIP Tim Kushi

Rat

Nitro Member
Sad to report that he passed over the weekend. Worked as a crew chief for many nitro teams.

Tim was a regular at the NED Funny Car shows. Always ran well, always put on a good show. Sounds like a life well lived. Thank you Tim for the memories.

RIP Tim.

We were race track friends for about 20 years. We shared common business interests as plastic injection mold makers and talked as much about that as we did nitro racing. He had a long and successful background in nitro racing and helped many over the years.

I crossed paths with Tim many times in the machine tool biz. Ran into him seemingly every year at Eastec In Springfield, MA. A good natured guy always willing to talk to a nobody such as me.

A tremendous amount of both nitro history and knowledge has been lost. His F/C Damn Yankee was a fixture in the northeast during the nitro match racing era. A very low profile guy that was in the thick of it for a long time.

His operation Moldmasters is about 35 miles due north of my home.
