Rickie Smith announces a new associate sponsor today as Bailey Trucking jumps aboard the Seven-Time IHRA World Champion’s 1963 Nitrous Injected Pro Mod Corvette for the 2008 racing season.
Smith will kick things off in his corvette at the season-opening ADRL Drag Illustrated Dragpalooza IV in Houston, Texas, March 7-8. Smith will attempt to take his Nitrous Injected Corvette and run the tables as he tries to bring home his first ADRL race win.
“I definitely excited,” said Smith. “I’m grateful to Bailey Trucking for coming aboard and helping me out. I have been busy here lately helping numerous different race teams all over the world, literally. So, it feels good to know that I will be back behind the wheel for a while. This corvette is pretty hateful on the racetrack, so I can’t wait to get out there and run in the ADRL again. It should be quite interesting.”
While Smith has some associate sponsors on his side, he is still looking for a main sponsor to get things where they need to be this year. But don’t doubt the race veteran’s capabilities, sponsor or not, he will be mixing things up at the track, that’s for certain.
