never been, probably cause everybody I have talked to that has been there wasn't impressed!

So you are condemning a place as a dump and you've never stepped foot there? Seems a little foolish to me. I was at Gateway in 2010 for the nationals and while I agree it's not the nicest place on tour, it's still better than some. The only knock I had on the place was that the parking sucked, but since the oval track stands have been removed, it should be a little better. Supposedly improvements have been, and are in the process of being made by the new owners. I guess we will see when we head back there in September.

Still wondering if there's going to be a "double up" bonus if a team wins the shootout and also the assiciated event, whichever ones those will be.

Ditto that, Minick, especially about the parking.

The facility and track surface itself wasn't bad at all as far as I'm concerned. Raced there many times and loved it.

Ok Ill give you that, it's no Memphis or E-Town!

Never had to pit in the mud at Madison or Chandler and both had cleaner facilities than Clermont. Commerce and Gainsville are about the same as Clermont.

Never been to Commerce, but Gainesville's Crowds dominate the sport of Drag racing hands down! Pomona, Indy, Houston, E-Town don't touch that place! The only track that come close are Reading (when the weather is nice!). And Norwalk!

I will take Pomona, Norwalk, Joliet, and the Smith tracks over the rest anytime. Reading and Gainsville, big crowds don't make the mud go away in the pits.

I just talked to someone at Gateway today, and asked them If the circle track stands had been removed, and they told me that they are still there. If you don't like the parking at Gateway just buy the orange west parking when you buy your tickets. It's worth It!

Run 'em both at Indy and restore the prestige to the biggest bleeping drag race in the world.

At least run one of them at Indy and help restore it to being the great race it once was. It's centrally located and draws big crowds. But no matter where they run them, a big thanks to TRAXXAS for bringing them back!

season starts in a couple days - details for this program
forthcoming?

NHRA Story » NHRA Traxxas Nitro Shootout for Top Fuel, Funny Car to be staged at Indy

a little complicated, but the racers get it and the fans get the shows @ indy,
live and on TV.....and the incentive to win early in the year is high.
i like this format

....in 2010
- doug kalitta was only the 4th different winner @ denver
- ron capps was the 7th different winner @ sonoma
- bode's win @ BIR would have been mute.

i like the idea of a fan vote/lottery for final spot;
not sure about the facebook scenario, but i guess there's the reach to
the youth so i guess i get it
