We need better memories: NFL - Ravens sacked their offensive coordinator mid season because they were going to miss playoffs. Brought in new guy and made the playoffs plus.

John wasn't the first 2 car team, in the 60's Ward and Wayre, both on the same trailer, Larry Minor and Gary Beck, Scott and Connie, Candies and Hughs, Jungle Jim, etc.

How about when the Austins were up making a qualifying run and upon returning to their pits Beard found out he was fired and his personal information was locked away in the trailer? Or when Tim and Kim didn't even go to the line to run the car they were working on, just packed their stuff and left the track when the team went up to the staging lanes. Or Connie changing drivers on Friday night after 2 qualifying sessions? How did that turn out for Connie? S**t happens and you just have to live with it.

John found out about Prock's intentions in a phone call from Don. Why did Don make the call? To get Prock released early and it worked. John asked Prock and he said he was leaving and John was right to say there is the door, leave now. If Prock wanted to stay to the end of the season, all he had to say was that he was staying, and then change his mind at the end of the season. They were behind in points at that time but showed very well the rest of the races. JFR couldn't do anything when Hagen had teammates to race in 2 early rounds at the finals, and there was no way that either one of them was going to beat Hagen on that day.

Sometimes, yes, it's because there's sensitive data, but most often, it's simply a matter of popularity. If you are someone that employees support and view with respect, they will walk you so none of what you have to say about the company, or how you've been treated will disrupt the work environment. Pretty simple. If you can make waves, they pull your boat from the water.

Also I once had a employee turn his 2 weeks notice. We let him work it out because he was a good employee and we didn't think he would cause trouble. He worked his 2 weeks out but convinced 3 employees to go with him the company he was going to work for.

Never let them stay unless they are retiring. Only one good thing can happen the rest are all bad.

I once gave 2 weeks notice at a job and my badge/key and email account were disabled before I got back to my desk. About 15 minutes later I was brought a box to clean out my cubicle and about 15 minutes after that I was handed a check for the 2 weeks and any unpaid vacation and PTO and walked to the door. I had seen the same thing happen to other people who had given notice so I was prepared for it, but it was still jarring. In today's modern business environment, I would probably do the same thing if I were in charge.

And how do we know the whole thing isn't orchestrated between DSR and JFR to increase the drama. Maybe they've taken a page from Vince McMahon and the WWE. Seems awfully convenient how crew chiefs and track specialists have gone back and forth between the two.
Where the hell else are they going to go?

Funny how it was OK 15 years ago when JFR was hell bent on acquiring all the best talent and now that the worm has turned the world is out to get him. Everything is born, lives and dies. Sometimes the dying is so graceful.
