I never had a problem with Prock going to DSR (or, for that matter, Neff going to JFR). It's just business.
I still bear some (minor) ill will toward John 'cause he cut Prock lose as soon as he gave notice. When someone - presumably in good faith - gives notice, it's a slap-in-the-face when an employer shows one the door (whether the departing employee is paid or not). Basically says, "I don't trust you"; not the message you should deliver to anyone who's been a contributor and it's one received loud and clear by every existing (or future) team member.
John, perhaps in a hot-headed moment, "cut off his nose to spite his face" and setting the table for ANYBODY who quits in-the-future -They will only give 'short notice'.
