That was one hell of a race. I'll admit it didn't have all the NASCAR circus-like atmosphere of the Fuel Flopper Fiasco, but it was a great drag race.

Everybody seems to be preoccupied with some other incident around here. LOL The pro stock final was incredible. It doesn't get any better than that. Congrats to Jeggy. Worth the price of admission right there.

Yeah, Mike Dunn's "best driver in the business" get's treed but $till ha$ enough to run $tanfield down.

I wouldn't call .001 treed and it probably lowered his leave first percentage down to 73%.

Anyone have a rundown of the classes top percentages? They keep showing top fuel, but if they show pro stock I keep missing it.

Dave you are speaking about the nitro hot rod association and they forget about the hard working prostock people.

Great race.

I have kind of tuned out of the PS deal for the last 8 or 10 years, but I find myself becoming a fan once again. That was one HELL of a final! As Frye would say, you could throw a blanket over the two! :D

At full-speed, I thought Stanfield won the race. Wow! What a race for an Indy final round!

I'll second that. I was pumping my fist and hollering because I thought Jeggie lost. Then the TV screen showed Jeg the winner !!!! Damn, I sure was rooting for Stanfield

I like Jeggie but can't go against the Louisiana home boy. I hope he will be out there next year. Also was hoping Micheal Phillips would win Pro Stock bike and Joey Tanksley would win in Comp.

Jeg got 2 lucky breaks to get to the final and Greg drove his way in. I sure would have liked to see Greg win that one, but Jeg is a class act as well. Thanks for the show!

Same here, it sure looked like Stanfield had it in the bag, my jaw dropped when I sawa Jeggie with the win.

Forget Force and the Pedregons, what about Brogdon vs Coughlin!

A note from DRO editor, Jeff Burk:
Lost in all the Sturm und Drang over John Force possibly tanking against Robert Hight so that Hight would go on to the NHRA “playoff” was the race between Roger Brogdon who runs with Charter Communications as a sponsor and Pro Stock race winner Jeg Coughlin Jr.

Brogdon crew chief Tommy Utt and Brian Claas, who work for Cagnazzi Racing, are part of a lease agreement with Cagnazzi to supply engines for the team. Brogdon had a monster .099 red light against Coughlin in the semifinals. He almost left before the tree activated. Brogdon and everyone on that team are very, very experienced NHRA racers who have won many NHRA nationalevents, sort of like Force’s teams. The win guaranteed Jeg Jr. (also under the Cagnazzi Racing umbrella) would lead the points at the end of NHRA’s “regular” season.

I know the Coughlin family pretty well and I don’t believe for an instant they would have any association with “diving” period! But if John Force is being accused of diving based upon a poor starting line performance should the NHRA have been over at the Brogdon camp checking that team’s race computer?

The fact is there is absolutely no hard evidence that is available to me or anyone proving any team is diving. This isn’t the Spanish Inquisition people it’s just drag racing for God’s sake. – Jeff Burk [9/8/2009] Tainted Win?

I could possibly see it, but I would also highly doubt it.

Jeggie gets those kinds of breaks more often because he's, well.................Jeggie. He's the baddest brother on the planet and because of that, makes many of his own breaks. For cryin' out loud, Edwards has had the field covered all year, Jeggie included, and really hasn't driven a decent round against Jeg yet. He's in their heads as soon as each opponent looks at the ladder for the next round.

He's the best, period.

P.S. I'm a big fan of Jeggie, obviously, but I will also say that it wouldn't have hurt my feelings a bit to see Stanfield put him away in the final. He/they did a hell of a job on Sunday and deserved to win as much as anyone.

Same thing with Rampy. People say he gets a lot of lucky rounds because so many people red light against him.

I don't really feel it is luck when people red light because you intimidate them so much.

I'm a big fan of Jeggie as well, but I was pulling for Stanfield in the finals-he a little guy and needs a win. But as one of the people on TV pointed out, they are ex-sportsmen racers (and Jeggie still does on occasion, as does his fiancee who won SC at Norwalk this year) and those of us who are still doing that tend to pull for those guys.
