Chevrolet hasn’t been the official anything for quite a while. With Chevrolet being the officer truck of the NHRA, what do you expect?
Sorry to disappoint, but John is correct. Chevrolet has been the official truck of the NHRA since 2014.Pretty sure its been Dodge for quite a while
THE Camaro body is thought to be more aerodynamic than a Dodge or Mustang. There are a few Mustang bodies on the tour.I love the closeness of the racing but cannot stand how the cars look. I don’t understand why Camaros are so popular. Doesn’t anybody have any imagination?

The handicap for the Dodges is the NHRA’s rules makers.I agree with everyone that says almost all Camaros make for a boring show. I don't care what aftermarket engine is under the hood anymore, that ship has sailed. Ford or Dodge aren't going to invest in an engine program it seems, and the Dodge engines have some handicap, either rpm limit or fuel depending who you talk to. That makes the GM based engine the only viable powerplant. I say GM Based, because there is not a Single GM part on a pro-Stocker or even on my Big Block pro-street engines. I have Dart blocks and heads ,Diamond pistons, Jesel , Manley ,ect. I would rather see Mustang bodies, Challenger bodies heck maybe a Supra even. Remember, we are trying to appeal somewhat to the masses, lets not get hung up on a particular manufacturers engine pattern, which is loosely interpreted anyway. We basically have a spec. engine, so be it, lets just not have a spec. body if other body styles can be tweaked or heck, even given a few pounds to be competitive. When even us diehards bemaoan all Camaros, we may have a problem. Isn't this supposed to be entertaining ? Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge is. Big kudos to the Cuadra's and Richard Freeman for the Mustangs !
I believe the Cuadras all run Mustang bodiesI have always heard the Dart body was the best aero ?? When they went to engine body didn't have to match several said the Dart body with the DRCE would be the ticket. IMO to keep GM support GM probably said DRCE's in Camaro's
Does anybody know the the aerodynamic difference of a stock body camero, mustang and doge bodies before they modified to pro stock rulesI believe the Cuadras all run Mustang bodies
I'm teaching a 37 yr old step-daughter to drive who has never had a license. She moved back home after spending 21 years in a big city riding public transportation.I have young relatives on both sides of the family and can attest to this. In my day, we couldn't wait to get our license and start driving at 16.
Now, many kids begin to drive only hesitantly after prodding by mom and dad who see a chance for a break from hauling them to practice and other places. And that's not at 16, often it's near 18 when it's about time for college.
What my generation saw as a bit of freedom, mamy kids now see as out of the comfort zone of cell phones and video games. A Date? What's that?
I'll vary between models and trim packages but the stock-body Camaro and Mustang are pretty close with the Camaro edging the Mustang just a little, like 0.32cD vs 0.33cD. The Dart has an advantage over both, with a cD of around 0.29. But a Dart hasn't won a PS race since Allen Johnson won one 8 years ago and I believe Alan Prusiensky is the only driver campaigning one now. There's several possible reasons but I'd be hesitant to even guess at one of them.Does anybody know the the aerodynamic difference of a stock body camero, mustang and doge bodies before they modified to pro stock rules
So what happens if two items need improving? Wait a year to address the second one?there was a PS meeting earlier this year. i believe it was matt hartford who announced the class would select one item annually to
improve on. haven't heard too much from the actual racers lately.
I'm not an engine builder, but is Nitrous only helpful at certain RPM levels? I never thought so. However, nitrous in PS is irrelevant because, it's illegal, LOL.an out of the blue question, from a naïve engine person. With the implementation of the 10.5K RPM limit, in pro stock, a few years ago, does that all but render the usage of Nitrous Oxide irrelevant?
