I have a question. Does running three races in a row out west help or hurt a smaller team versus two races. I can see pros and cons to each. So I’m just wondering if having Vegas in the schedule would have helped the car count.

I don’t think a third race would have helped. Yes, it would make the long travel from the east or midwest more worthwhile. However, now you have to get volunteer crew guys back and forth 3x. and probably need to have parts shipped out to restock. If the three races were close together, that probably doesn’t help either. As my guys wouldn’t be able to take off all that vacation time.

Have you ever looked at or used the Weather Underground website? I prefer it because it comprises a network of approved, locally/individually owned weather stations you can choose from a map. Can find one much closer to your house, or in this case, an event, than the "local" National Weather Service station which might be 10 miles away. Check it out, I think you'll like it.

Back to weather....Accuweather says rain 55% Friday, 55% Saturday and 83% Sunday. NHRA has really pissed off the weather gods in SoCal. I think an offering to angry Mother Earth is in order. I was thinking free admission, parking and In n Out Saturday for all might appease them.

a lot of track drying will occur

Thanks for the tip. Old habits... Yes, I do use the the Weather Underground for the Doppler Radar which is very accurate.
sorry, I had to edit my question due to a typo - mean to ask "ever" not "even". I've taken a nasty spring cold the past few days and am in a slight fog.

yeah I like the radar too, agree, seems better than other sources. Like George Carlin said, why do we get weather from the airport? I don't know anyone who lives there.

Well, that's OK because it's actually the Accuweather page that has the Doppler Radar I check. ;)

It really is something. We've had incredible, beautiful, weather here in CA lately and the one weekend NHRA is at Pomona, it rains.

I cancelled my trip 😭

2am Friday - WU says good to go Friday, 60% Saturday early, over by 9am, Sunday - ehh, not so good. If they want to run the finals Monday it looks cool but dry.

DA and temperatures for today. last updated 1:30 AM Pomona time. The numbers change every ten minutes or so but you get the general idea of course. I think we'll see both qualifying rounds today.

Looking towards the track from my hotel looks awful foggy, but the weather models look good precipitation wise, so let’s hope for some good qualifying. I’m excited to finally see this historic track.
