Well we've got a tough hill to climb. We go to the racetrack 16 times a year. Once to test, then all of the rest are either divisionals or nationals .... that's not the regimen of your typical top ten runner .... they are racing two or three times that much. I keep a fair amount on my plate outside of the 1320/660 stuff. Happy to share, and we really appreciate the interest!Yeah, I saw Bob Button is now out of Louisiana. He used to run out of Payson, AZ, then Calif, and now "he a Cajun, yeah".I should tell him to look up some Guidrys down in Kaplan. That was my Mom's home town. By the way Jeff, we are all rooting for both of you. Headlines: Texas Maters Take T/D Championship. WHOOP!
https://www.nhraeventreg.com/listeventstatus.asp They used to have it on NHRA.com but I cant fin it there any more. This may seem like a stupid question, but where do you find the entry list? I've looked through event info, schedule, etc but I must be blind 'cuz I can't find it.
It has always been in the footer of this site. Hope this helps. This may seem like a stupid question, but where do you find the entry list? I've looked through event info, schedule, etc but I must be blind 'cuz I can't find it.
What events will you be running this year? Good luck in 2019!We need the powers that be to lift the quota for Indy this year! As it is, you very likely have to have an 8 grade point to get in.
Unfortunately for us, our engine decided to really act nasty last year and we only made 4 divisionals (cracked crank shaft early in the year -- 6 week wait to get a good one, water leaks in heads causing horrible detonation -- two new heads, not off the shelf, a 1 in 10,000 rock landing between the cam belt and gear causing a tooth skip and a significant introduction of exhaust valves to piston tops -- about $10k in parts). Fortunately they also allow a 3 year grade point average but that only got us back to a 7 grade point.
Looking forward to watching Pomona online. Funny to see all of the Cali guys that come run with us in D4 now having D4 car numbers.
The NHRA has really made it hard for a D4/Houston person to run for national points in TD. Houston is the only national within 1000 miles (except for Atlanta at 850) .... Ennis, Topeka, St Louis, and Bristol were taken away for TD from last year (we ran nationals at each place last year ... and coincidentally those are all of the venues where we've won Wally's historically .... new challenge for 2019, and lots more miles on the rig to make 5 nationals).
Jeff
Thanks Sam. I've got two different businesses that I own that cause conflicts at times, but here is the plan:What events will you be running this year? Good luck in 2019!
Jeff, to run Denver, does it require to make a lot of mechanical changes to your engine when running nitrous? I know your a low 6 second player normally but in Denver I would guess it would be a 6.70s which would be fairly competitive. They also usually don’t even have a full field. Thanks Sam. I've got two different businesses that I own that cause conflicts at times, but here is the plan:
Nationals:
Houston
Norwalk
Brainerd
Indy
Charlotte2
That's only 5 tops, and a 7 grade point probably won't get us in Indy, so not ideal trying for national points.
Atlanta conflicts with a wedding shower my wife has to go to for my youngest son's future bride.
Chicago's a tough gig to volunteer for unless you are also in the AllStars.
Denver .... i rented that track three times when we used to run juniors and I swore I'd never go back ... for a sea level nitrous guy it's like running on the moon and for a national parking is really bad.
Divisionals
All of the D4 divisionals
D5 - Topeka double in July
D5 - Brainerd divisional coupled with the national
D7 - Vegas in November
Thats every race that work or another NHRA race doesn't conflict with. If you count the miles we'll drive it's pretty scary.
Jeff
Jeff, have heard you any reason why they're running T/S and not T/D at St Louis and Ennis at National event.
