Pomona Nitro Car Count

Maybe, i was wrong...but, i will see them this weekend, so if i don't forget, i will find out if they still do or not.

You weren't wrong Eugene, they definitely use to. I just got unlucky the last time I saw them race, which was when they were getting help from DSR I believe.

While there aren't nearly enough IHRA sanctioned/owned tracks west of the Rockies, they will be a strong competitor for the spectator dollar - at 1320 feet for nitro cars.

he should hang a large sign off his trailer announcing he is the only racer left who wacks the throttle during warmup.
he deserves the crowd.....the rest of them.....forget it.

At the PRO Winter Warmup a few weeks ago at PBIR, I was there only for both Friday sessions. Not one team whacked the throttle in the pits - NONE :( And I had two newbs with me.

I asked at the gators last year, a couple of teams why they don't whack the throttle anymore. one lied and said the did, the other pretended not to hear me. 1000ft no throttle whacking. why go anymore. I 'm looking forward to the ihra shows in florida this year.

You get more excitement in the alcohol pits watching a blown alcohol car warm up these days.

Dom Lagana is helping us this weekend and i asked him if they still whack the throttle, and he said they still do it at match races. Scott Palmer is next to us and he has whacked it every time he warms up.

That's cool! My sister missed seeing Scott's warm-up yesterday, but said she could hear his loud and clear. All the best for this weekend Eugene, hope you guys put in some solid runs in the last two sessions and make the field.

Thank's, we dropped a hole at the hit on our first two laps. We hope to do better today.

Still, to see the alky fields fall short at pomona is a bummer. But it's no mystery, it just plain costs a fortune to run these cars, any cars, nowadays.

This is for thoses who can;t be at Pomona, We travel with these guys doing the cackle shows. This is Schultz and Glenn at irwindale 1971.

I cackled the car on My 52nd birthday last year at the Ink and Iron Festival at the Queen Mary.
