After reading the article, it appears to me to Biggest Complaint is against the Loud Rock concerts and Raves?

The track was their before all the homes!
If I were to guess I would think it’s the home owners on the country club golf coarse!
The NHRA events bring much needed money to the community and its businesses!
As far as traffic and garbage their lying out their asses!
There is traffic everywhere in the LA County Area the fans are a minimum impact!
These so-called upscale crap is a joke!
Those homes dont come close to the Bay Area and Silicon Valley areas!
You can buy two homes in that area for the price of one up north!
I’ve heard rumors of NHRA possibly updating Famosa in Bakersfield which would be fine with me. Less of a trip and I’m sure the Bakersfield area would love the business it would bring!
Pomona is one of the iconic jewels of the NHRA. I wonder if Disneyland would have such a problem with its neighbors and all the traffic and garbage it causes the area!
If Disney ever left that area Anaheim would be a bigger Chithole!
I believe over 90% of the homes in that area predate the Drag Strip.

I don't see NHRA moving it to a track they don't own or control nor should they. Plus it should be at a low elevation track although I am unsure about the elevation of Vegas. B. Smith and his 4 lane crap shouldn't have that kind of influence.
The NHRA owns nothing but dumps. Why would would you want to move to one of them?

it would be the permitting process, the maybe of someone having a problem with drag racing and not approving the permit.
Then the NHRA is stuck what do they do then? relocate the event

The LA Fairplex hosts 300 events a year. It is a non for profit org which has been losing $$$ for years. The ceo salary is over ONE million dollars a year. Sounds like another organization???

Pomona has lots of history but not very large crowds, short shut down, a curfew, usually rains at the winters, bumps in one lane...wait why do they still race there?
In 2011 it hailed Big time and even damaged cars!
I ran into the Mello Yellow tent and it was so loud pounding on it the girls and I couldn’t hear each other!
Some folks made Hailmen! ;)

I started going there for the Winters in ‘70. It was packed on Sunday and quite busy on Saturday.

I bought a house out in a farming area of Washington state.
One page was basically this. If you don’t like smells and farm equipment on the road.....
DON’T FN MOVE HERE!
WHEN YOU SIGN THIS PAGE WE’LL LET YOU MOVE HERE!
IF YOU BITCH ABOUT THESE THINGS LATER...TOO FN BAD!

I used to bracket race there long ago. It’s about 2,300’.

The Strip used to be the Speedrome which we called the Sandrome for good reason.
I’ve not been there in many years but it’s hard to believe NHRA has learned to control the weather!!! ;)

My ‘69 Nova SS 350 4spd street/Strip ride ran a best of 13.25 at Vegas waaaaaay back in ‘71. I was told then that I’d be in the 12s at Pomona.
Pomona is at 1,025’ and Vegas about 2,300’.
At sea level that run was 12.89.
I can’t find a chart to easily correct the difference though but I’d still be close to a 12 all other factors similar to both sites.
Nice to know after some 46 years or so. :)

Exactly, National Trail here in Columbus is a POS, INDY is ok but I cannot for the life of me figure out under that entire grand stand on the east side there are like 5 or 6 picknik tables only, real nice when you want to get out of the sun for a bit and eat, WTF NHRA? How much do picknik tables cost???

Hundreds and people have trashed them maybe?

Prob. as much as the "Upscale" that moved into Englishtown knowing that there was an existing track there. Note to self "Future home owner" do your research before moving in! And BTW, They have an airport there.
Oh but it doesn't matter. Just move in, cry to the local government to try to get the race track, airport, etc. forced out at no cost to you, or if all else fails, lawyer up and sue. Seems to be the American way anymore.
