I remember the 93 flood well because I was one of several volunteer Prime Inc (Springfield, MO) trucks to haul relief water to a mall parking lot in Des Moines. A major metropolitan city without running water for a month!
Some of the entertainers from Branson joined in. Two lines were roped off at the backs of the trailers. One was for gallon jugs autographed by the celebrities, who sat in lawnchairs. The other side was for those who really needed the water, where we humped it to the rear, six gallons to the case (about 50 lbs). These people needed water so badly that you'd put a case to someone's chest and they'd nod for you to put another on top of that one.
