Petty Sold?

A buddy of mine this morning told me that Richard gave up controlling interest of Petty Enterprises to some sports group but he really didnt know too much about it. Did he sell it or was he forced to give it up b/c of financial reasons or whats the deal?

I hope the new group from Boston gives Kyle an ultimatum. I just don't think your helping the team by jumping out races during the year to broadcast TV. I think Kyle is an excellent broadcaster and would like to see him pursue that full time......I mean Dover 1995 was a long time ago.

Steve, I agree, Kyle knows his shyt very well but I think he'll be driving for a while.

Just think about the morale at Petty and how it could be boosted. I think the team members on the 45 know Kyle and his ability. They have Bobby Labonte at least qualifying well now and looking at Top 10's. Give a new hot shoe with a lot of determination and drive a chance, and I think the morale for team members of the 45 instantly turns upward.

Kyle shouldve quit 10 years ago. Might as well, I think he only makes it 10 to 20 laps a race anyways. They do indeed need to put someone in there that can drive.

I'd like to see them switch Kyle's. Put Kyle Busch in Petty's car, put Petty in Busch's car. Now we know those 2 cars are a world apart but I'd be willing to bet that Busch finishes better in Petty's car than Petty does driving Busch's car.

I would like to see KP retire and go to the booth for good. Perhaps to SPEED, because we know FOX ain't gonna let Jaws 1.0 go.

I personally like TNT's coverage. The guys in the booth, excluding Bill Weber, are very knowledgable and know their stuff. I wouldn't cry if Weber left, but even he's better than what ESPN stuck us with.

I wish Allen would've stayed with TNT. Then again, I can understand why he left and it was because NBC treated him like shyt over his injury. I wish ESPN would move Allen Bestwick up to the booth and put Dr. Punch on the Countdown - I thought Punch was awesome in the pits in the 90s.

I don't think it's that Kyle still can't drive but he definitely is not giving a 100% concentrated effort.
If he spent as much time on his driving like he does his personal/company business interests he wouldn't look nearly as bad as he does (never a Kyle fan) or he would've retired a few years ago.

Justin I do agree with you on this switch-eroo!! For sure. But Petty has got to put the best guy they can in the 45 and Kyle ain't it!!!
