Mr. Songas, my thoughts EXACTLY.

Perhaps the powers that be at ESPN has PP in a big contract like CBS does with Katie Courick and can't stand the thought of admitting that they made a poor investment.

I wonder how the program be if I just turn on "closed captioning" instead?

Oh, c'mon guys. Give him a break. I just watched his work on the 2006 Cony Island hot dog eating championships, and he did just fine. He even managed to get all the names right.

I think.......

Admit it, ya love the guy.

Paul Page / ESPN2

Wow...that's tough news! I'm sure he's giving it his best, but there's no connection between himself and Mike Dunn, and it's obvious he doesn't really know much about drag racing, or the classes vehicles. In his defense, it would be very difficult to go to an Indy car race and call the action like I knew what I was doing.

I've been in the Radio industry for over 24 years, and in my professional opinion, he's probably a good guy, but he's the wrong guy and a bad hire. When I select announcers and employees for my station, I do my best to MATCH them to their responsibilities...I'm afraid PP will never be the match we all want.

Im thinkin Mr boring is replacing Mike Dunn.

No offense to Paul P. but he really needs to stick with a sport he is more familiar with. I really expected him to get better at it as the season went along but it didn't happen. It almost seemed to get worse. If he really enjoyed doing this for drag racing he would have immersed himself in it and showed improvement through increased general knowledge of the sport. I would imagine he didn't get out of the "booth" much. As I said, it didn't seem to happen. Somebody from ESPN has GOT to be reading these comments. Pass them around.

Why does my day have to start being totally depressed after seeing this post!!!This is horrible news. JJ:mad:

I'll make this very simple for ESPN/NHRA. If Paul Page is on the TV shows, we won't be tuning in.

With all the talent in the drag racing industry (former racers, track annoucers, even former TV personalities) that have the skills to do the TV job, WHY must we be subjected to a couple of guys (Paul and Marty) that come from sissy racing and don't have a clue? People like Bob Frey, Alan Reinhart, Lynn Nickerson, Frank Hawley, Cameron Evans, Jason Baffery, etc. If it's about money I'll do it for $60K/year plus benefits!!!!!!
