Saw Pat at Thompson Dragraceway driving MT'S red ford mustang against Bobby woods. It was my first sighting of a REAL funny car. WOW!
I also remember him most for his exploits with the Setzer Vega. THAT was a feared car in it's day.
The past years have admired his recreations from afar and there is no better craftman than him in the sport.
RIP Pat!

I feel we have lost one of th sport's greatest drivers from the golden days. RIP Pat and thank you for what you shared with us.

I'm glad I got to watch Pat Foster race at OMS, OCIR and the dale while I was growing up. My fav was the Barry Setzer Vega. RIP, Pat.

What can I say? I'm still not over losing Hofmann and now another one of my heros is gone. I never got to meet Pat (always wanted to) but I really admired him. This guy drove everything and did it well. I remember when I was at NHRA Columbus race in 2006, they had McEwen's 78 car and the Jade Grenade on display. I must have looked at those two cars for over an hour. Foster's craftsmanship on those cars was awesome; such beauty. I had really hoped that he would make a recovery and I would get to meet him someday, I guess that will have to wait. My best to Pat's family and friends.

Dave

Dave, you took the words out of my mouth as I also can't believe we have lost two drag racing heroes in two weeks, Hofmann and Foster. I would have loved to been able to see some of Pat Foster's work on those cars at that Columbus race, or some of Hot Rod Reunion races. Man if I still lived out West I would surely have made it to Bakersfield a few times by now. I can't recall if I ever saw one of Pat Foster's creations at the track in person (memories going) but as someone else posted, probably one of my all-time favorite funny cars was the Barry Setzer Vega that Pat drove. Don Garlits has the Barry Setzer rear engined streamliner Top Fuel dragster that never panned out in his museum and it's painted just like the Vega and it is one beautiful work of art. RIP Pat...and thanks for the memories.
