Really like the 2 bikes doing wheelies. Great shots. Wish I was there. Hope the cool weather holds up. I went there in 1990, the year the Greek was R/U to Gary Ormsby. Thought, great, not hot box Phoenix weather, will be cool in Seattle. It was 90 degrees.....

Der Panzer Wagen V-Dub. Cool little car! I have a soft spot for Bugs. Yes, I go to the Bugorama at Wild Horse.

I believe Cory Mac’s first race car was a badass Bug. I remember The Durachrome Bug FC from when I was a kid, it was pretty cool.

Here is a little story. The first Durachrome Bug was built as an AA/FA, had a shorter wheelbase. Crashed it, & then rebuilt as a funny car. That car was never real stable on the top end. It is my understanding that the car was found in the last few years & is being restored, rat motor and all. There was / is a photographer from Tucson named Jim Kelso, who ran a Bug funny car as a super comp, maybe 1990's. Car was really cool, a bit longer than the Durachrome car. Kelso was gonna put a blower on it and run CIFCA, but never heard anything about it. Wish someone would build another bug like that today.

Didn't know about the AA/FA roots. I do know there were TWO Durachrome Bugs built, and I did see pics somewhere (FB maybe) of one of them that will be restored. And, I remember Kelso's FC, it was pretty cool.
