Either a number of teams sat out the first round of qualifying at Richmond or the combination of the economy and the Countdown has killed the incentive of independents to run the last few races of the year...

Just a matter of time before there will be less and less independants. Just doesn't pay. Sad but true.:(:(:(

Well, maybe they can take the 2 FC's that won't make the show and put them in the TF field to round it out........:D

Anybody know if Foley/Zizzo are on grounds?

Foley is not on the entry list (which often means nothing). Hopefully, Tony will fill us in on Zizzo. Palmer and Millican are also entered - I'd be very surprised if Clay doesn't run. Bob Frey is seldom wrong, so we'll probably see a full field. If not, and Sarge stays Q1, its . . . OVER!

come to think of it... don't remember seeing clay's car...

I love the smell of Nitro in the morning...

Does it makes any sense whatsoever to schedule Charlotte, Dallas, Memphis, Richmond then Vegas Pomona??? That's Nutz!

My Guess is Clay's team would rather save $$$ for the trek out West to Vegas then Pomona!

Karl, you were SOOO close sir, 4.00 flopper, WOW.
You saw an OUTSTANDING show.

Yeah Zappy, but 'Load Out' happened too early... that 4.66 (4.005) was awesome (Papa's car had the same clutch set up in it)... both rattled HARD at 150 out...

I enjoyed it at 1000ft. was sitting at 250 feet Saturday and Sunday (when I was in the seat)... the breeze was blowing the 'right way' all weekend

Left the track at 5:45... missed the first ten minutes of the ESPN2 broadcast... It's too bad some of the best racing doesn't make the same day telecast. Sportsman was outstanding all the way across the board. Jay winning Pro Mod with a 6.05 over a 5.95 was just unreal... he had a car and a half lead when they went by me.

Once again, Thank You to Eric Lane and the guys, Robert, who is just Wonderful with kids on the Rope, and Mister Prock (heck, even saw Jimmy smile a couple of times over the weekend)... and 90 proof smells much better than 85....

only bee-itch is the 7 dollar burgers, the 3.50 dollar bottle of coke, the four dollar hot dog... (ah, bowling center uses the same food vendor as the 'Cafe')... at one point on Sunday, (burger and Coke) my order was Ten Fifty, I laid a twenty down and as I was reaching in my pocket for two quarters she said I owe you nine fifty... I laid the quarters down and she said, okay, now I owe eleven... couldn't bring myself to do it... tempting yes... stupidity should hurt. Our public school system at work...

Karl, what happened to ya'?

Was busy playing 'Fan Boy'... kept my @$$ in that 50 buck seat... by the time I got back to the car after Pro Mod first round y'all were locked up... Sunday morning did RFC... grabbed breakfast at the Hot Rod Cafe... stopped at Robert's car... lost track of time... it suddenly was ten AM... just flat lost flippin' track of time...

Frey said there were 16 on the grounds.

If that's true (and it was) and I was an independent, I would've taken Friday's sessions off too. Knowing I'm going to qualify for Sunday's race regardless of what I run, I'd rather run the car on Saturday in conditions I'm more likely to experience on Sunday - especially since only the best 12 times count after session two anyway. But that's just me.

As for the Countdown contributing to Top Fuel teams staying away, I have to disagree - this time. If not for the Countdown, Tony would've already clinched... by a metric ton of points. As it is, he's going to win it anyway, but not because of the countdown.
