Here is one last picture of a Ford bodied car that Vanderwoude ran. Most people didn't know that when the NHRA started the class of "Pro Comp" Al Vanderwoude slung a T body on his funny car chassis and tried the class for a year or so.

Great pictures, Brad. That "Eleanor" Mustang is definitely the one I saw in Olathe. Good job!

I wonder who sanctioned the event? Olathe seems awfully close to AHRA's "hometown" venue, Kansas City International Raceway.

Yes, that's what I remember! The Kansas City area was AHRA territory for sure.

It was a great event. I introduced my college room mate to his first nitro race that day. He was hooked.
