Just got a survey from NHRA asking about my opinion on oil downs. Clearly it came because I have purchased tickets directly from NHRA for a variety of races over the years. Coupled with the recent Super Class survey asking about indexes, it's great to see NHRA reaching out to people to get a broad spectrum of input on issues that face the sport.

laughable.........Brainerd not even on list.......better let the 2 new board
members know there is a race in Canada :o

oh wait, now i remember, that's right, i attended the race in concord, new jersey :o..............unbelievable.

nat. events were a huge attendance success for MANY years when
oildowns were 'part of the package'...........nhra, do not point the
finger of indignation at oildowns as a source of your attendance/tv blues.

They NO longer consider Brainerd a race since most people party in the Zoo all day!!

That's ok, I don't care what they consider it, it's is still the funnest event on the schedule as far as I'm concerned. I've been to national events all over the country and I've never had as much fun as I do at Brainerd.

NHRA didn't begin to think out the question. It should have been:

DOWNTIME

Which covers among things not occurring to yours truly: crashes without oildowns, cars dead on the track from OTHER malfunctions, 'chute failures etc, sending cars into the sand.

In other words, activities that cause the obnoxious T - shirt shooters to appear, with dead MIKE Time, scoreboard commercials, in fact even TRACK PREP without any cause but the whims of the officials!

Brian, I was playing on Mike Larsons comment.:p

why is this survey on or associated with 'hegdes & company survey' company?
thought this was on the nhra website, but evidently not??

today geico announced an extension of their marketing partnership
with the nhra, the release states
The GEICO Trackside Team will entertain spectators during appropriate breaks in the racing action.

correct answer to survey question: downtime paid for, part of show

note to geico: not sure if 2 guys shooting t-shirts into crowd does much
to enhance your brand, sell insurance.........it sure doesn't for me.

-should have some sort of raffle for your insurance, or a voucher for a
really good percentage off for signing up.

- do a raffel - sell tickets via cross promotion with food or bev. vendor
- one winner every day - drawing after last nitro run on friday and saturday
- drawing before finals on sunday, sunday winner a better deal than
other two days
- have to be present to win - maybe even use the sunday winner in a
quick TV presentation on espn - now that's exposure!

- FAN WINS GEICO INSURANCE AT EVERY NHRA NAT. EVENT -

announced in front of stands during downtime each day.
hot 'geico babe' hanging with 'gecko' mascot, driving up and down bleachers
all day during downtimes selling the deal to the fans
