I have purchased a lot of Oakley things, I never go to a race without making more then one trip to the "Rolling O". I havn't worn anything but Oakley shoes in about 5 years. Hope they have a good supply in Brainerd!!!!

My best purchase has been the Straight Line 4.0 prescription glasses, I love them, and get lots of compliments on them.

Well, I've wanted Oakleys for ages and ages. I found a couple pairs I liked last week at the Sunglass Hut at the SuperMall. I put on these platinum framed Square Wires (they were labeled A Wires, but I think that's wrong) with iridium blue lenses and thought that was the hottest thing on earth. Get in my blue Mustang, roll the windows down and go for a drive. Zow.

My sister said she'll buy me a pair of Oakleys for my birthday (just five weeks away, yay!). And I have long been of the mind that if I got myself a nice pair of shades I wouldn't be constantly losing the cheapies that I buy.

Although, I must say my $16 Disneyland sunglasses are almost a year old, which is a record for me. I almost think I subconsciously try to lose shades.

And I admit, the fact that many of the drag racers wear them kind of puts me over the edge as far as lusting after the product. First thing I noticed when I met up with a driver a week or so ago was his Oakleys.

What's really cool, though, from this thread, is seeing the high praise for a product line and the flying of the O even though Oakley doesn't sponsor everyone...that really says a lot for the brand.

Can't wait to get my first pair of Oakleys! Yay!

I'm in the market for my next pair......just have to try the 2 I'm looking at on my melon and see how they fair. ;)

We are going to start bringing out the laser to show why Oakley users are the smart ones... look for it beginning at Indy.

Jim

Jim, I don't know how long you have been supporting Drag Racing (All the years seem to run together), but I've had my Oakley glasses for going on 6 years now, and going strong. These are my everyday (work-racing-weddings....) and love a great product. Your support in racing is awesome.

I think I was at your coach (Rolling O) at Sonoma, next to Scelzi's I believe. You were'n there. I was looking for Gary.

I was like Joe, bought cheap sunglasses for most of my life. Lose or break them, no biggie.

Until I bought my first pair of Oakley's, I didn't understand why anyone would pay that much for sunglasses (other than they thought they were cool). I now know. While they're definitely cool, everything I had owned before decreased my vision, they just eliminated bright light and/or made my view muddy. The optics on Oakley sunglasses are second to none! It was like I put on prescription glasses with my first pair, I could SEE better with them than without, whether or not I was looking into a bright light situation. I didn't know that was possible!

Back to the losing cheap stuff. You don't lose Oakley's. Someone might steal them, but you don't lose them or leave them anywhere. You know where they are, because you have something that really helps you see better!

Joe. Let's use some reverse logic here. Maybe you lose them all the time because they're pieces of s*&t and you can just buy another pair. If you owned a quality pair, perhaps you'd keep better track of them???

I see your Point Dave, but I've had some P.O.S. Glasses that I liked, but misplaced them somewhere. Couldn't stand to see a pair of $130+ Sunglasses go out that way!

I had bought Gargoyles in the past, somewhat because I worked at DEI, but that's what I did. I bought my first Oakley's last year and thats it. Only Oakley's now. I left West Wendover Nevada yesterday morning and drove through the rain all the way through Salt Lake City and out to the UT/WY state line. Never took the glasses off. The clarity they provide is unbelievable. Makes all weather conditions visible.... except til the sun goes down :D

Kelly..... go to a Sunglass Hut and try some on, gives you a little advantage before getting to the track. The Rolling O is pretty packed most of the time so if you have an idea of what you are looking for it makes the purchase easier. They have all frames and lens options...very cool...

The best time to hit the Rolling O is on a Thursday -- or when the pros are running.

Gotcha......I'm looking at a larger framed pair this time around. I've gotten a couple of recommendations. :)

Oh, I also use one of my older pair of Half Jackets when I shoot outside. So far, they haven't received any damage from spent rounds.....but it's bound to happen soon.

I have yet to break or wear out one of the watch bands when by now I would have gone through at least three on my Tag watches.

Bob

That settles it, I guess my next "sports watch" will be an Oakley. I currently have a Tag and a Raymond Weil, while they are both nice, but I am in the market for something new. I was real close to buying a Breitling in St. Thomas a few weeks ago ... perhaps I will wait until Indy to see Donnie.

On a side note, I play a lot of poker here in Vegas, and people always assume I am a pro sponsored by Oakley (sunglasses, shirts, jeans, shoes). I am far from it, but it does convey the proper table image. :D

Hey Jim, THANKS!

Quality product, no matter WHICH product, that's one of the things about Oakley merchandise, but I will always be a consumer,,,,,,,,

I have 1/2 mile of fence row that gets the weed eater treatment about once a month (or whenever I'm home, whichever comes first), wasn't that long ago the string trimmer launched a failrly nice sized rock straight towards my right eye. FORTUNATELY I had on my Oakley's, chipped the lens, but didn't shatter or PENETRATE!
Talked to Holly @ the next event, bought a replacement lens, and continue to wear theme anytime I'm using the weed-eater. Soon to buy another pair, just because I want a new style.

My prescription frames are O's along with 2 other members of my family. there isn't a better prescription frame on the market.

Love the shoes too!

Thanks Jim, class act all the way around!

I think I'll be scoping the watches out tonight on the Oakley when I get home from work...

OT: Where do you play your poker? Hubby and I lived in Vegas for 2 1/2 years (I'm sure I've mentioned this before...). Think you'll squeeze in some poker after rounds during Vegas 2? I'll come snap some pics of you in your Oakley gear at the table. Oh, yeah, that's because I will definitely be going to Vegas 2 this year. Just lining up lodging at this point, hopefully will have the plane tickets booked by the weekend.

Maybe I should just meet up with Jim sometime...wanna get some Oakley ads in my paper? LOL j/k I have no control over that...they don't let me deal with anything involving money.

Mmm. One less day till I get my new O shades. *rubs hands together a la Monty Burns* Excellent.

Wynn, Bellagio, the Palms or Caesar's Palace. Depends on my mood. I always try to play where there are likely to be more tourists than locals.

Ah, an excuse to go to the Wynn. They were building it last time I was in town...nearly three years ago. I remember when it was the DI and painted red, etc., for 'Rush Hour 2.'

In fact, a big reason I want my Oakleys for my birthday is so I can wear them during the trip to Vegas in October. Although, if all is true in here, I may wear them year-round up here, despite the crummy weather we'll be having by the end of October. :)

I am in a good mood today...heh. More on that, though, later, in the lounge. ;)
