O.C.I.R. Original Idea

In October of 1968 O.C.I.R. management came up with a non on track idea. The track came up with an old-style 5-amber tree for the spectators to learn about the era's Christmas tree. You could test your reaction time and get a up close look see. Sound familiar for todays racers? Dad and I tried it a few times, I never red lighted except every time I tried it,LOL!

One of the things I liked to do at the end of the nat'l event was go & walk on the starting line, to see how sticky it was. Then look down the track & see kinda what the driver sees. Always at night after the race ended, usually while the photos were being taken of the winners.
