Mike Dewine, Ohio's governor is on a major power trip right now. I assure you he already has his buddy the atty. general writing a cease and desist order to Bader.
He has already shut down Hobby Lobby.
Mr Bader would do well to heed the words of his local and state governments, he will find he needs them a LOT more than they need him and his race track.

Every year we lose many thousands of people (mostly seasoned citizens) to the flu. We've never shut down the world because of it/
It is yet to be determined to what degree Covid-19 is transmits more aggressively or is more deadly than seasonal flu.
Do we want to live un a world totally devoid of risk?
While I think the President got rolled into over-reacting to this so-called pandemic, the numbers indicate (to me) that, with reasonable precautions, it's time to get back to work.

Covid 19 spreads faster than the flu. I think they said if you have flu, spreads to 1.5 persons. Covid spreads to 3.5 persons. And yeah, thank you China for sloppy lab procedures. Arghhhhhhhhhhhh

Shhhh!🤫 They have all the nitro!

Some years ago, China became the only nitro maker in the world. If I remember right, they were drastically increasing price of nitro & racers were thinking of going to alky because of costs. Prudhomme talked about that once in an interview, said they were ready to switch at that time.

I couldn't agree more with what Mr. Bader said in his video. It's time to take back our country. Everyone is entitled to their opinion regarding Covid-19 and the decision to support, or not support businesses that need to reopen is entirely up to you. If you aren't comfortable with going to your local race track, than by all means stay home. It is still a free country, which gives each and everyone of us the right to make the best decisions for ourselves. I personally do not fear the virus, however I do fear the power that our government and media are exhibiting during these times. As a business owner I can very much relate to what Mr. Bader is saying. I hope that racers and fans come out in droves to support Mr. Bader, support racing and show their support for taking their country back.

It has already been determined, it is far more deadly and aggressive than seasonal flu. For several days it was the leading cause of death in the USA, even with social distancing measures taking effect.
It is not a "so-called" pandemic. It is a literal pandemic. Defined as "an epidemic of disease that has spread across a large region, for instance multiple continents or worldwide."
The numbers aren't higher because social distancing in place. The further we roll back social distancing the higher the numbers will go. The risk is significant, especially so if the healthcare system becomes overwhelmed.
But I'm actually with you that with reasonable precautions, events can take place. Holding an event open to large number of spectators is not within that spectrum, but I can see perhaps off-street events returning, with people restricted to their vehicles.

The problem is, those people who choose to go to a race track or an event with many spectators then further endanger everybody else in the community. For instance, if someone goes to the race track, they come within close proximity to hundreds of people. They then go to the supermarket and risk exposing the people there, who have been taking precautions.
Freedom is fine, until it extends to a point where someone's freedom physically affects that of others. It's not 'taking the country back', it's choosing to be wilfully ignorant of the risk.

What is the purpose of experts and qualifications? Don't want to offend some snowflakes' opinions because "everyone is entitled to them?"

It's one thing to have a scientific basis and a plan as the reasons to open the track. Perhaps Norwalk has a zero or near zero infection rate. Perhaps the track opens but only to people who live within a certain radius. Perhaps there's an abundance of EMT's twiddling their thumbs willing to work. Perhaps there's actually demand of fans willing to be surrounded by tens of thousands of people who they don't know their medical status. I don't know what the answer is. But "I borrowed too much money" and "my opinion matters" aren't reason enough to go against people who are actually qualified on infectious diseases.

I know it's en vogue these days to shun science and just say whatever comes to the top of your mind, that's fine when these low education people only affect themselves - but there is a bigger issue here that does have the potential to affect others. Life will go on...everyone is entitled to their opinion, doesn't mean that everyone's opinion becomes law. We need to get over this "everyone gets a trophy" mentality here.

Again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I have mine, you have yours and the "experts" have theirs.

I just got a call from my co-worker (in the interior restos) that a longtime buddy of his just lost his wife to the Covid. The guy has had us do interiors on his hot rods in the past.
This is the first person I know to be hit with it, and they did everything to prevent it....stayed in their house for weeks, only had food and stuff dropped off from stores with delivery, and their daughter checked in and brought stuff for them. Not sure if she had contact or stayed outside. They lived in Middlesex NJ, and he had to bring her to a hospital in PA because they were going to bring her to a makeshift tent hospital in NJ. He didn't find out it was the virus until today....and has that on his mind now....who's next?
They had been married 65 years.....

The lady could have gotten the virus from a delivery driver. NJ is a hard hit area. Virus can be transmitted on surfaces. Think of a food service worker who doesn't know he / she has the virus. That person fills the container w/ food and closes the container. Even if the server is wearing a mask & gloves, the virus can still escape from below the mask (cuz mask is not 100% sealed aganist the face). Then virus goes on gloves and from gloves to food container. Delivery person puts the containers in a plastic bag & delivers to customers. Customers take containers out of plastic bag & are exposed. That is just one way to get the virus. When my wife & I get take out, we take container to our car & wipe the plastic bag on the outside & the handles with a sanitary wipe. (You can also wipe a paper bag) When we get home, we wipe outside of the containers. Wash our hands & eat. Not 100% foolproof, but it does help. Oh, we also wipe the steering wheel, etc w/ the wipes. So far. no home deliveries except post office & UPS, etc, but we wipe those as well. You don't wanna know what I'm thinking about China right now. I still have a lot of friends at the county hospital in Phoenix (retired from there Jan 2019 as certified pharmacy tech).

What if there is no racing this season? Can these tracks subsidize their income in any other possible way? I don’t know; say, offering space for delivery truck parking? Law enforcement driver training? Temporary Shooting Ranges for law enforcement training? Storage space for deliveries or food banks? Military or fire fighter training space? Drone pilot training areas? Bicycle or track and field training areas? Truck driving school courses? Hell; I don’t know if ANY of that makes any sense whatsoever...... just raising some alternative question I guess. There’s lots of open space, level concrete. That’s got to be able to be put to some kind of good use, somehow.
