Nitro in top T/A (4 Viewers)

Those are 5.20 cars all day long. 291 already with a minimal amount of testing and competition? Give it 6 months and they'll be running 300. NHRA is smart enough to realize that it's only a matter of time before someone figures out how to get the cars to rock and roll down low under the current rules and then presto, the blower goes 1:1. And if that ain't enough it'll be something else.

Hats off to Worsham and others who might try to make blown fuel work but personally I'd rather see injected nitro. Works well in TAD; why not TAFC? NHRA could help too if they want the class to stay viable....right now the winner in TAFC gets $5000 at a national event. That's almost an insult. Win at one of the premier events and you can make 50 times that with a big tire bracket car.

Not arguing, just discussing. You can't compare purses with the Big Bucks Bracket Races.

That's high stakes gambling. 100 cars pay a $1000 entry fee and you have a $100,000.00 purse.

500 cars (or entries as many double up) at $500.00? $250,000.00 for the weekend you can do a 50K, 50K, and 150K.

Add buy backs crew passes etc. and the promoter can make it work.

But you can't charge the TA racers $5K entry fee to pay a $25K to win purse, so what's the solution?

No, not at all. I'm always interested in what you have to say.

I made it sound as if TAFC should be rewarded the same as the bracket racers, didn't I? I wasn't. I was simply pointing out the comparison of a reward that might be half of 1 percent of the operation's cost versus another that can pay for the entire cost of the operation and then some at one event. Somehow it doesn't seem fair.

I don't know the answer, Alan. I don't believe it's blown fuel but props to Worsham for trying.

On thing that almost everyone doesn’t think about is where the purse would come from. If there isn’t enough entry fees to cover the purse, than where does the rest come from? Big money bracket races only have a couple classes. A National event can have 15 or more classes. That is a lot of total purse money.
